Downsizing and Organizing...

Many of you may know that last year we decided to downsize and relocate to a smaller home. We chose to live a simpler lifestyle. Now, I didn't take a vow of poverty, but did reach a place where I felt we no longer needed all the big ticket items I had collected over the years including the 3500 square foot house we lived in. The big two story home with just the two of us didn't seem feasible anymore.  I spent a lot of time chasing Preacher's Wife up and down the stairs only to realize when I finally caught her I forgot why I was chasing her.  We now have a nice little one story home comfortably furnished. I just finished my workshop and storage below the deck and find it nice for everything to be in its right place.

Fredricksburg Bound...

Several years ago Preachers Wife saw an article in an RV magazine about a group of women who called themselves "Sister's on the Fly". We talked it over and decided it was just the kind of group she would enjoy being a part of.

She has always loved adventure and as an only child she grew up being rather independent and self-sufficient.

These are just a few of the many things I love about her. At any moment she may hear about a group of sisters going to Tennessee, Georgia, or Arizona. So she stays packed and pretty much ready to hook up her vintage trailer (Maxine; named after her mother) so as to leave in moments notice.

So today she and Maxine are off to Fredricksburg to meet up with a group of sisters to enjoy a weekend of talking about grandchildren, while eating and shopping. So in a couple of hours this is what I will see. Have fun sweetie!!

Seven Deadly Zins

Being the son of a preacher I was made aware at an early age of the 7 things God hates found in Proverbs 6:16-19.  I grew up being throughly taught about all the things a Christian is NOT to do.  Of course in the New Testament the list of bad things, set forth in the Epistle of Galatians (Galatians 5:19-21), includes more of the traditional seven sins, although the list is substantially longer: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, "and such like".  I have no problem with believing we should avoid these things.  But just this week I came across something that arrested my attention. 7 Deadly Zins not Sins...Zins.   Of course I checked and rechecked the list and it was not there, so I bought it and have now tried it, and think in moderation it is quite nice.
