Highlighting my two youngest grandsons today...

Silas and his new puppy

Logan on a Pumpkin Exploration
Preacher's Wife and I are blessed with six grandchildren, and another due in February. We have three girls and three boys. They live in Denver, McAllen, and Fort Worth. We have recently been informed that the seventh is another boy. Since last week was Silas' birthday and Logan's birthday is in a few more weeks, I thought I would post a couple of pictures their parents sent to us. As the holidays approach it looks like we will be spending time in all three places from December until mid January.

Preacher's Wife Speaks

Many of you may know by now that Preacher's Wife has decided to become a blogger. She said something on her first post about 'setting the record straight'. I am not quite sure what she means by that. I feel like I have always given an accurate account of things as they happen. Of course I am going to see things through my eyes, and with a little different perspective than her. But 'setting the record straight', I don't get it. This sounds like I have out right lied and the truth needs to be told. My life's vocation is about speaking the truth. I may have from time to time miscalculated a date or a time frame but that is to be expected unless one is a flawless person. Hon, I am only human, give me a break. Anyway, I will not squelch her voice or right to speak. You can go to Preacher's Wife Speaks and become a follower of hers.

The Bird...

This past week Preacher's Wife and I were sitting inside when all of a sudden a bird flew into our patio window. She went outside to see how bad the bird was hurt and when she did it flew up on her shoulder and immediately became good friends with her. It obviously was someone's pet cockatiel. I was sent to PetSmart to get a cage and food. I prayed on the way that she would not fall in love with this bird and want to keep it. Well when I got home the bird had walked down her arm and had just about chewed all her fingernails off. My prayer had been answered and she had already named this bird which let me know we would not be keeping it. DB short for Damn Bird was its name. She called around and had a community e-mail sent out, but no response. The next day Preacher's Wife was most diligent in finding a new pet owner. Thank the good Lord that's over. Another exciting week at HCR (Hill Country Retreat).
