Home and Back in a Day

Yesterday I went home to my old stomping ground to conduct the funeral for a long time family friend. I grew up in Howe, Texas and from the time I was born until the time I left home for the Navy, and then to Bible College, I lived in the same house and we had the same neighbors. The Cannon George family were good people and wonderful neighbors. They became our life long friends. Their son Cannon Jr. was an only child and we all thought of each other as brothers and sisters. This past week Cannon Jr. went to be with the Lord. It was a time of grief and relief. You see for past 7 1/2 years he had dialysis 3 times a week and each session lasted 3 to 4 hours. So for us it was grief but for him it was relief. May you rest in peace my friend.
