Our Upcoming Trip To Amman, Jordon

We have finalized our plans for our first trip to Jordon to do a Pastor/Leader’s Conference with our friends Ron and Gretel Hibbert. We will be leaving April 8th Easter Sunday.

Politically and Spiritually, Jordan is one of the most strategic countries in the Middle East. Along with Egypt, it is one of the more tolerant Mulim countries and there is some measure of freedom for Christains. Some persecution does exist, approximately at the level that Eastern European countries experienced under communism. It is possible to have a registered church and to evangelise amongst people of a broad Christian faith, but it is forbidden to try to convert Muslims.

Pastors and leaders are subjected to frequent questioning by the secret police and sometimes their service are infiltrated by informers. Christians are still in a signifciant minority, with only about 30 spirit filled churches in the whole country. Pastors and Leaders do not have access to training and therefore their knowledge and experience is often at a low level. It is easy to become discouraged when faced with restrictions.

These leaders live and work under great pressure and need good Bible based training, as well as prayer and encouragement. This is what we will endeavor to do. Feel free to contact us if you would like to assist us in this outreach.

Why Men are Rarely Published in Dear Abby

Dear Abby,

I've never written to you before, but I really need your advice on what could be a crucial decision. I've suspected for some time now that my wife has been cheating on me. The usual signs... Phone rings but if I answer, the caller hangs up. My wife has been going out with the girls a lot recently although when I ask their names she always says, "Just some friends from work, you don't know them." I always stay awake to look out for her taxi coming home, but she always gets out down the street. Anyway, I have never approached the subject with my wife. I think deep down I just didn't want to know the truth, but last night she went out again and I decided to really check on her.

I decided I was going to park my Harley Davidson motor cycle next to the garage and then hide behind it so I could get a good view of the whole street when she came home. It was at that moment, crouching behind my Harley, that I noticed that the valve covers on my engine seemed to be leaking a little oil. Is this something I can fix myself or should I take it back to the dealer?

Thanks for your patience and friendship

Thanks for reading my blog. I hope you understand that there are times when I go blank and have nothing to write about. Of course if you follow this blog there is nothing life-changing that is written here anyway. It is simply one friend sharing everyday life happenings with other friends. I will be back soon with something very profound.

Cold in San Antonio

The Outlaw got her first taste of cold and ice. We have been by the fire for the past couple of days here. I have enjoyed it but I will say I am ready to get out and about. Maybe the sun will come out tomorrow.

Grand-dog

Our youngest daughter Marlie just sent us pictures of their new puppy. Her name is Lucy, and she is a golden retriever. We were happy to be informed that we have a new grand-puppy.

Apple Unveils iPhone

For a country boy I am very much into the latest technology. And without apology I am into Apple. Sure it cost an arm and a leg, but I have been a Mac user since 1984. So after seeing the review for the new iPhone, Preacher's Wife ask me when I would get my iPhone. I told her not until June, and only because they are not released until then. This is one thing we never argue about because she knows I love my Macs and nothing is going to change when it comes to being a Mac user. iPhone

It's Tuesday and we headed home...

Preacher's Wife and I took a little after Christmas break. She decided there were a couple of shows she would like to see in Las Vegas. So we have spent the last 3 days in Vegas. We saw Danny Gans who is a wonderful impressionest. Also, I wanted to see "O" which is a wonderful water show by Cirque Du Soleil. We enjoyed ourselves throughly and are headed home today.
If you have been to Vegas you know they have an over abundance of slot machines and food. I am not into slot machines that much. But food....well that is another story. This is how my day feels.

Happy Birthday Chloe!!!!

Our oldest granddaughter Chloe turned 11 today. I guess that means Preacher's Wife is probably feeling a little older. I told P'sW that one is only as old as they think, act, and feel. She rolled her eyes at me and I quickly left the room. There are times you just know certain things are right. I knew at that moment it was right for me to politely excuse myself. She seemed to be saying, 'I am not older, but talk like that will prove that I will live longer'. So here I am all alone in my bedroom celebrating my granddaughter's birthday.
